Our Menu

The philosophy underlying our menu aims to harmonize the Buddhist cuisine of Asia  focusing on Nepal & Tibet, with the ancient Indian teachings of Ayur (life) and Veda (knowledge). At Mitho Cha, our extensive menu features a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options, along with delectable offerings such as dumplings, curries, authentic thalis, and dishes showcasing lamb, chicken, or duck!

Furthermore, we proudly support Nepalese farmers by offering their Kanchanjunga and Highland-Black Tea (from Ilam, the highest tea-growing region globally), as well as Nepalese spices like Timur, Jimbu, various masalas, and our renowned Buffalo dry-aged meat (Sukuti). Through these sales, these farmers are able to sustain their livelihoods.

We invite you to peruse our menu and explore the flavors of Nepal and Tibet with us!

Namaste!

Nepals

Classics

DAAL BHAT - THE "DAILY BREAD" OF EVERY NEPALESE

Of course you won't miss our national dish: Daal Bhat.

It's the most classic dish of Nepal,

"Daal" means lentils &

"Bhat" means rice and they are served on the authentic Thali (plate)

In Nepal there are many different kind of curries you can have on your Thali and there are numerous non-vegetarian Thalis, too!

We are very proud that his holiness the 17th Karmapa visited our restaurant in 2017 to try our famous Daal Bhat!

Ayurveda  आयुर्वेद

Most of our dishes are based on the teachings of Ayurveda! Jeera, Coriander, Turmeric, Ginger, Lime, Sesame, Garlic and Chili are just a few of the herbs we use in our cuisine.

Beside that we have for each of the 3 Dosha Types a recommendation:

- for the Vata-Type: Tarkari Kaju, a warming dish, salty and sweet

 - for the Kapha-Type: Daal Bhat, please request it as spicy - a dish with lots of vegetables and lentils to balance the slow digestion.

- for the Pitta-Type: Saag Tareko - a bitter and well cooked dish to maintain all its ingredients. A filling dish which fill not fill your stomach too much.

Let yourself be embraced by our Buddhist tranquility and relax. Eat only when you are hungry.

Drink only lukewarm boiled water, and most importantly, escape from the stresses of everyday life.

Immerse yourself in a world of traditional Nepal with wholesome home-cooked meals and energy-balancing teas, e.g. our Rab-Ga-Yangzin Tea from Tibet.
